JOIN THE MOVEMENT…
shout “respair” from the rooftops!

rooftop respair

respair noun, the return of hope after a period of despair; verb , “to have hope again.”

Even small windows let in bright light… With little use since the 1500s, the word “respair” is now considered obsolete. But it does not have to be. No, we can bring it back. More than that: it needs to be brought back. Never, perhaps, has there been a time when this little word was needed more than it is needed now. Now! People all across the globe are losing hope. We can help them find it again. Not just passive wishful personal desires and thinking, but spiritual, core-deep, confident, life-giving, ever-inspiring, transcendent, generational hope. Hope is active. Hope is passion. Hope is stronger than fear. It is stronger than hate. Hope is rooted in love. It sees everyone as our brother or our sister, and this big beautiful world as a collective home given us to take care of while we strive to take care of each other. Does it matter who formed it, how it was formed? No!  Hope is light. It has the power to lighten burdens and raise people up, communities up, nations up. Hope has the power to dispell the darkness of despair. It is a song to sing, a word to shout from the rooftops so that those who need its virtues will hear it as if from the heavens and find, in that moment and beyond, the strength to keep going, keep living, keep loving. WILL YOU SHOUT IT WITH ME? …RESPAIR!

Scroll down to see people from all over the world, people just like me and you and you, yes, you, all of them  shouting from their rooftops, from the mountain tops, from their cars and porches and balconies, at the top of their lungs: “respair!” May those who need to hear it, hear it. May those who need to feel it, feel it. May it take root in our hearts and change them. May we, in turn, change the world.

Add to this growing global respair.
It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3…

  1. 1. Shout it, literally shout it, wherever you are.
  2. 2. Record It & Post Your Video on Social Media
  3. 3. Tag it (#rooftoprespair & @thinplacesandfaces)

GENERATIONAL HOPE!

Generational wealth is the transfer of financial assets from one generation to the next, creating a lasting financial foundation that grows over time, enabling future generations to achieve greater economic security and advancement. It’s about building a legacy that provides opportunities for those who follow in our footsteps. HOPE CAN BE GENERATIONAL TOO. WE CAN PASS IT ON! WE MUST PASS IT ON! LET’S PASS IT ON…TODAY!

CALLING ALL “LIVE HUMAN SIGNPOSTS”

In 2013, Vincent Harding, the civil rights activist, was interviewed by Krista Tippet of OnBeing. In that interview, he spoke of a young man who, “like many other young people, were operating in a situation where they felt it was just very, very dark all around them.” He further spoke of this same young man’s hopeful plea: for “Live Human Signposts” in the world; or, in other words, for people who stand, at one time or another, as beacons of hope, goodness, and empathy, people willing to give off even just a little light for those feeling their way through the darkness. These signposts, he said, “open up possibilities that other people can’t see in any other way except seeing it through human beings who care about them.” THIS WORLD NEEDS YOU, A LIVE HUMAN SIGNPOST–FOR HOPE, PEACE, AND LOVE.

“IK ONKAR”: THE POWER OF ONENESS

ik-onkar

“Ik Onkar” (ick o-uhn kaar) is a foundational Sikh symbol. It is also the first phrase in the Mūl Mantar of the Guru Granth Sahib, the opening verse in the central holy scripture of Sikhism. It litterally means “One God,” representing this singular essence of a Creator who pervades over all existence. But its conotations and its significance go far beyond that, as is the case with all truth. More than an isolated and isolating statement about one God for one specific religious group, “Ik Onkar” represents a supreme reality for all of us. It is about absolute oneness; deep and abiding unity; universal equality; and indellible interconnectedness. WE ARE ALL CONNECTED! THE MORE WE CAN COME TO UNDERSTAND THIS, THE MORE WE WILL OPEN OURSELVES–AND THE WHOLE WORLD!–UP TO TO A GREATER WHOLENESS, COMPASSION, AND PEACE.

Optimism is the belief that the world is changing; hope is the belief that, together, we can make the world better.
